Newsflash: GRE used for Business School Admissions

Recently, a number of reputable MBA programs have begun to accept the GRE exam for admission to graduate business school programs, in lieu of the GMAT exam.  The GRE has always been required for admission to Masters and PhD programs in almost every specialty...but now, your GRE may also open the door to a career in business.

What does this mean for you?

If you are considering some type of grad school in the future, including possibly business school, then taking the GRE will be a positive first step on your future career path and will keep all of your options open.

As of Feb 2009, ETS reports that there are over 140 business schools that accept the GRE.

Not sure where your future career path will lead you?

Take the GRE now, scores are valid for 5 years, and you will be prepared for a variety of future graduate degrees, including an MBA at many schools. Statistics show that test-takers aged 23 and under actually have the highest average GRE scores, so it's to your advantage to take the GRE sooner rather than later, when you still remember more of the math and vocabulary that will be tested on the exam, and you are still in more of a study-mode during or soon after undergrad.

What is the first step towards taking the GRE?

Try taking a free practice test to get a feel for the types of questions that you will be asked, either on our website or at a local Kaplan center.  Plan to spend two to three months (part-time) preparing for the GRE.  Find GRE preparation options near you.

Other questions about the GRE exam?  Speak with a student advisor at 1-800-KAP-TEST or chat with an advisor online.
