Established in 1878, the University of
Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine is a private
institution with a history deeply rooted in
establishing a foundation for dental education,
research, and patient care. The school is one of the

Educational programs include a predoctoral DMD
professional program; postgraduate programs in the
clinical specialties of endodontics, oral medicine,
oral and maxillofacial radiology, oral and

Non-science majors are encouraged to seek
admission. However, evidence of advanced science
courses will add strength to a student's record and
provide the background most appropriate for success
in the DMD program. Recommended advanced science
courses include: Biochemistry, Microbiology, and
Physiology.
