Students
Kaplan and Lippincott Nursing join forces to offer a
complete program of Integrated Testing with remediation and
NCLEX-RN® preparation
New York, NY, September 27, 2006 – Kaplan
Test Prep and Admissions, a premier provider of educational and
career services for individuals, schools and businesses and
Lippincott Williams & Wilkins (LWW), a leading international
publisher in medicine, nursing, and the health professions, today
announced that the two companies have entered into a cooperative
agreement to develop, market and distribute an integrated testing
and RN licensure prep program for nursing schools and
students.
The Kaplan/Lippincott, Williams & Wilkins Deluxe
Integrated Testing Program includes customized testing, basic
remediation and NCLEX-RN® preparation courses provided by Kaplan
and additional in-depth content for remediation provided by
LWW.
"This alliance creates a single source solution that enables
nursing schools to benchmark student performance, remediate
knowledge deficits and prepare students for their RN licensure
exam," said Judith Burckhardt, PhD, RN, Executive Director for
Kaplan Nursing, a unit of Kaplan Test Prep and Admissions. "The
program provides customized tests that map to a course curriculum
and a tracking system that monitors students' use of the
remediation resources."
"Many nursing schools are using multiple sources for
admissions testing, integrated testing, remediation, and NCLEX-RN
prep. Combining resources with Kaplan enables us to offer nursing
schools a complete package for all of their testing, remediation
and NCLEX-RN prep needs. This provides consistency and a better
value for nursing schools and students," said Alison Harrison,
Vice President of Nursing for Lippincott Williams & Wilkins,
part of Wolters Kluwer Health.
The Kaplan/Lippincott, Williams, & Wilkins Deluxe
Integrated Testing Program is comprised of the Kaplan/Lippincott
Williams & Wilkins Integrated Testing Program (a series of
tests to benchmark knowledge: admission test, customized tests,
course specialty tests, end-of-program tests, NCLEX-RN Diagnostic
Test), the Kaplan NCLEX-RN® QBank (a classroom teaching tool and
preparation tool that allows students to review 1,200+
application- and analysis-level exam-style questions with
comprehensive explanations), multi-level remediation and the
Kaplan NCLEX-RN® Review Course (classroom or online).
Both companies will unveil this new offering at the National
League for Nursing conference to be held September 27-30 in New
York City.
